The Warriors 2019 AFCON Fundraising Committee will be hosting a Fundraising and Launch Dinner on 12th June 2019 at Cresta Lodge, Harare. The Fundraising launch and dinner is expected to be graced the His Excellency, The President, Cde. Emmerson Mnangagwa as the Guest of Honour.
This is the first major activity that the Warriors AFCON Fundraising Committee will be undertaking following its appointment by President Mnangagwa on 22nd May 2019 to raise resources towards supporting the Warriors’ participation in the 2019 Total AFCON Tournament to run from 21 June to 19 July 2019 in Egypt.
“As the Fundraising Committee we are inviting all stakeholders to come on board and support the Warriors. I must also assure the nation at large that all resources realized from this campaign will be applied towards their rightful purpose and fully accounted for, we are mindful of the need to be transparent and accountable in our dealings to earn the trust of stakeholders.
“We are targeting to raise USD500000 which will go towards the upkeep of the Warriors and other ancillary requirements. It is our firm conviction that if we support our team, they will be motivated to perform hence it is our clarion call to everyone to support us materially and financially”, said Dr Eve Gadzikwa the Warriors 2019 AFCON Fundraising Committee’s Communications Sub Committee Chairperson.
Dr Gadzikwa also indicated that the Fundraising Launch and Dinner would signify the roll out of the Public Relations campaign to rally the nation around the Warriors as they take to the field at the 2019 Total AFCON Tournament.
This is the 4th time that the Warriors have qualified for the Total AFCON tournament after the 2004, 2006 and 2016.
