Profile:
ITF Taekwondo was officially introduced in Zimbabwe on the 15th May 1998 by Master Sin Jae Sop, a 7th degree Holder. Master Sin Jae Sop helped set up the Zimbabwe Association for Taekwondo. The experience of having someone of his caliber here with us was, indeed, an unforgettable experience. Zimbabwe was represented at the 11 World Championships in Argentine in 1999 by Mr. Martin, who is now an International instructor. To compliment this, Zimbabwe was chosen to be the interim chair of The International Martial Arts. For all Zimbabwean Taekwons, this spelt the beginning of the Martial Art. At The National Sports Stadium Independence Celebrations in April, a team of Zimbabwean Taekwons, trained by Master Sin put on a spectacular, though brief display. In 2013 two representatives of AITZ (Association of International Taekwon-Do in Zimbabwe) Definite Nyaude and Richard Mashanje went to Mozambique for a 7 days seminar with the Grandmaster the seminar helped shape the direction of Taekwon-Do in Zimbabwe. Now Zimbabwe is fully a member of ITF Taekwon-Do.
