The Sports and Recreation Commission Board, Management and Staff would like to congratulate Shihan (Master) Samson Muripo on his attainment of a 5th dan Karate Black Belt which elevated him from being a Sensei to a Master or a Shihan in India recently.
Muripo a World Kyokushin Karate Champion attained in February this year in Iran rose through the ranks to become a renowned Karateka and in 2010 He won the World Kyokushin Karate Championship in Japan and went on to become the Sportsman and Sportsperson of the Year. It is his humility and discipline which have taken him this far. It is our advice to the upcoming Karatekas to emulate Shihan Muripo by being disciplined, focused and above all working hard to achieve the set goals and targets. As a Commission we are happy that our Sportspersons are continuously hoisting our flag high above other nations and may the same spirit continue into the future for the good of our sport. It is also our deep belief and conviction that Shihan Muripo’s rise to prowess is not only for himself but will also cascade the knowledge to others through training and imparting the new skills learnt.
Once again we express our hearty congratulations to Shihan Muripo for the attainment of the Master’s status, indeed your resilience and hard work has paid. May this be the beginning of a new era in your chosen career in which you have dedicated your life to.
